Make your computer faster

Is your computer too slow? Of course it is. Computers always are. But there’s good news – you can do a few things to make it faster. Binny VA has some really useful hints. That’s for Windows users, of course – Linux computers never are slow. :)

    This may not be revelant but i figured i’d post this anyway. If you’re using ubuntu 8.10 you may be in for some issues with the network manager. For some unknown reason it stops functioning. You will need to manually set you’re resolv.conf with your ISP’s DNS servers. That file is located in /etc/network/resolv.conf

    Thank you, Janardhanaya! As it happens, I just learned this the hard way when I tried out Knoppix 6.1 (installed on a bootable USB stick). Which is basically a Debian Lenny. I haven’t had this problem with Ubuntu 8.10, though.
