Burning CDs and DVDs under LinuxThe first issue of c't, the computer and technology magazine I've subscribed to (again), has an article about burning CDs and DVDs under Linux. Once again it turns out this is extremely easy: Nautilus, the file manager which comes with Gnome, can do everything I need, and a whole lot more, and it's very comfortable to use. Brasero even supports Blue-ray discs. Modern Linux distributions work fine with all kinds of burners.
When I burned my first video DVDs, our stand-alone DVD player had problems playing them. That's strange because it's a fairly recent model and we chose it because it's supposed to play just about anything, including CD-RW, DVD-RW, VCD, DivX ... My two DVDs played fine on a different player, which is a lot older.
